不顧西班牙中央政府禁令，加泰隆尼亞自治區執意舉行獨立公投，警察與投票者爆發衝突，造成超過800人受傷。對於加泰隆尼亞獨立公投引發的紛爭，歐盟各國始終冷漠看待。
加泰隆尼亞獨立公投之前，就遭到歐盟反對。歐洲議會議長塔加尼（Antonio Tajani）表示，加泰隆尼亞如果獨立，是自外於歐盟，因為違反歐盟成員國的憲法，就是違反歐盟的合法架構。
西班牙政府主張，加泰隆尼亞的公投違反1978 年的憲法，這套憲法是西班牙民主的基石，也保證西班牙的主權。歐洲議會也以相關爭議屬於西班牙內政、尊重西班牙法律為由，拒絕介入紛爭。
至今歐盟大國領袖都未曾對加泰隆尼亞獨立公投發表評論，只有同樣爭取獨立的蘇格蘭首席大臣施特金（Nicola Sturgeon）在推特(Twitter)發文表示，部分加泰隆尼亞的影像令人震驚，完全是不必要的暴力。他說，「讓人民投票吧。」
加泰隆尼亞自治區通過的公投法規定，如果公投通過獨立，48小時內就可宣告獨立，但是目前還未知自治區政府會有何種作為。加泰隆尼亞自治區主席普伊格蒙特（Carles Puigdemont）先前接受媒體訪問表示，「一定會有過渡期，不可能馬上獨立。」
他也批評歐盟對此漠不關心。支持獨立的團體和工會則呼籲3日在加泰隆尼亞發動大罷工。

英國經典派對品牌「Creamfields」適逢今年慶祝成立20周年，將於12月首次登陸亞洲，並選擇台灣作為亞洲第二站。《Creamfields Taiwan 2017》將由Marshmello棉花糖、KSHMR、Galantis，三組超人氣DJ帶領下，確定於12月17日登台，門票將於明（27日）中午12點，在全台7-11 ibon售票系統開賣。
「Creamfields」是知名的戶外電子音樂節之一，更是首開先例將DJ舞臺搬到室外的大型音樂節，堪稱英國戶外電子音樂節的鼻祖。「Creamfields」更是史無前例的奪下七屆英國「年度音樂節」及「最佳國際音樂節」等大獎，亦是首次獲得「最佳大型音樂節」殊榮之戶外電音活動。
《Creamfields Taiwan 2017》DJ陣容將邀請到三組MV點閱率超火的「破億DJ」，其中最令台灣粉絲期待的，便是挾帶超高人氣、且首次來台參與大型戶外音樂節演出的壓軸主秀Marshmello。他於近兩年橫掃YouTube點閱率排行榜，個人就擁有三首點擊率破億金曲〈Alone〉、〈Summer〉及〈Keep it Mello〉；而擁有一半中東血統的KSHMR，曲風帶點中東元素情調，歌曲辨識度極高，他在2015年與「電音教父」Tiesto合作歌曲〈Secrets〉一戰成名，該曲在YouTube點閱率超過1.6億次，同年乘勢拿下世界百大DJ排行榜的「HighestEntry」(2015年所有首次上榜的DJ中的最高位)，2016年名次再躍進至第12名。

首次同台演出的雙人組合Galantis被封為「瑞典電音新勢力」，他們最為人知的兩首單曲〈Run Away （U&I）〉和〈No Money〉，在YouTube的點閱率合計突破5.9億。Galantis也在2015年得到國際舞曲音樂獎「最佳突破性藝人」的頭銜，擅長現場live的打鼓演出，更是讓電音迷們津津樂道。除了上述三位主秀外，活動還邀請到「埃及電音法老」Aly & Fila、DJ Ookay、Kayzo、荷蘭當紅雙人組Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano，以及國際電音新星三人組Brohug。
